Green, white, and gold. Looked fine in the desert and in Northern California. Sorry to see it go.

What's interesting is that several months ago the Parker guys were saying that the units were going to be repainted,
they figured one a month. Wonder if replacement power is coming instead, those units are pushing 15 years on the A&C.
Oh and BTW, those are killer shots, this time of the year is about the only time you can get those.

Awesome stuff. I wish I had gotten more A&C coverage before RailAmerica/Genesee & Wyoming took over. Probably not happening now. (I was going to go there from Kingman one morning a few years ago, but cloud cover scared me off.)

I googled Castle Hot Springs and found a video on the back road (Dirt) to the area of Castle Hot Springs.
It is 'waaaayy' out in the boonies!

Very nice shots. Those units paint goes so well with the terrain.

FANTASTIC catches! Great spot. Made MANY a trip out from Los Angeles to catch this road when they were new and have no regrets. This is an awesome paint scheme.

Fantastic photos! How difficult was it to get to those location(s)? It sure looks like you are in the middle of nowhere, which makes those photos all the better.

Pretty close to US60,but some hiking and climbing involved.Another problem with this early morning adventure is rattle snakes. They love this type of terrain and prefer the early morning lower temperatures.Bill Webb

Yah middle of the shoulder of a four lane major road!! Shots get better with a little walk, even better with
a major hike. Keeps Bill in shape. Since Bill's post pretty much echos mine I'll add the remark about the really
neat little rest area just down the road from where the shot was taken. Little irrigation, some nice shade, and
a wonderful spot to find those snakes he was talking about!

Out.

If you exit at the cement plant on the other code of the road you can loop back under the road and drive directly to the RR if you have a 4x4.
