Video of 3-mile-long coal train
Author: bmarti7

The BNSF has been combining loaded coal trains in Mandan more frequently. Today they sent the BNSF 7569 east with a 2-4-2 loco set-up. I was on a mission driving from downtown Bismarck to a housing area northwest of town on the Missouri River. I caught this dash cam video of the lead, pulling hard, along West Main in Bismarck. Then I skipped the video to River Road, passing the water treatment plant. The rear of the train is still in Mandan. Thanks for looking.

Nice and informative video even though I'm more in favor of more trains and more crews out on the road.

And a miserable day for the crew.....:</

The "monkey see, monkey do" of this industry never ceases to amaze me...
