I have to wonder what it would cost to refubish these sets and then add them to the Coast line as a supplement to the Starlight.  One of the advantages of the Talgo design is taking curves faster correct?  Wonder how they would handle the line.

Or perhaps as an add on to the Capitol fleet?  Maybe for doing the long proposed from San Jose to Reno?

Nice shots Steve. The Alviso shot really shows of the train.

Let me tell you - those train sets were really worn out on the inside. They looked very shabby. Refurbishment would be pretty expensive and extensive.

I've been reading that these cars performed poorly in that wreck a few years ago.

Drop them in the ocean as artificial reefs.

Interesting that no one has commented on teh power change, I assume it waas made it Portland.  I am curious as to the reason for this.

Nice shot from the bridge, Steve. I've never seen that before and it works.

I'll have to add mine while I'm not in a snarky mood. :-) Second Jim's comments regarding the elevated shot off Bailey, very nice!

Thanks for this.  I saw the thread after I'd made my post.  Still do't know why they had to change power.

They had a 24 hour slip in departure due to electrical problems in one set.
They may have needed the locomotives for another train.
