Western Railroad Discussion > Caliente derailment

I understand from comments made on the Tehachapi depot railcam site, there was a BNSF derailment at Caliente this morning.  Large pipes from flats and other cars on the ground.  Anyone know any additional info?

Occurred around 12:19 am this morning. Track is still closed.

The part of the westbound BNSF manifest that was OK went through Edison headed to Bakersfield around 9:58 this morning.

It was 'captured' on Tehachapi Live Train Cams new Guimarra Vineyards cam at Edison as it passed by MP 219.6.

BNSF estimate track will reopen by 2:00pm local time.

UPDATE: Track was cleared for service at 3:30 pm.
