Here's a shot taken in 1992 when I lived in Houston. This was one of my regular stops when "Foamin" back then. It's sad to see a piece of RR history come to an end.

I lived in Cleveland, OH when Conrail shut down Berea Tower (a famous RR landmark in Cleveland that was featured in a TRAINS Magazine article in the late 1950's). I knew one of the Towermen and at his invitation, several of us "Foamers" spent about 3 hours in the tower early in the AM 3 days before it was shut down.

BTW-That's my red 1952 Chevy pickup that I used to own in the left hand corner of the picture. (For those who care, it had a 69 Chevelle subframe, V-8, AT, disc brakes. It was a great little ride. I drove it cross country when I moved back to Oregon in 1993.)
