More from the test runs of UP Big Boy 4014 yesterday, all these are of the first turn from Cheyenne, WY to Speer Jct. Photo 1 - The first test run at the C&S Bridge. That's the West End Balloon Track in the foreground. Photo 2 - At the Speer Jct. steam-era water tank, a train in the distance gives the illusion of a much longer train. Photo 3 - Portrait of the steam-era Speer water tank with a Big Boy in the distance, a privilege to have a sight like this in the 21st Century!

Photo 4 - The first test run near the old site of Corlett Jct., where Track 3 to Denver joined Mains 1 and 2 until the 1950's. This is on Track 4, the afternoon second test run here I already posted was on Track 3. Photo 5 - Stack talk at the Stock Track; 4014 and entourage pulls from a stop at West Cheyenne at the end of the first test run, the unused spur in the foreground was once used for loading livestock at the stockyard. I don't see the continuous blow down steam under the cab. Is it on the other side or did something change? Nice sunflower near the stock track.

Nothing scheduled for Cheyenne Frontier Days since sponsor Denver Post Newspaper and UP ended their arrangements.

Denver Post Charities dropped their Frontier Days train years ago.
