Steam & Excursion > ORHC - Turntable project - nextDate: 01/14/23 17:00 ORHC - Turntable project - next Author: asheldrake These 1/13 pictures show the support for the turntable pivot. The Omega Morgan project foreman was quite proud to point out the hard to see nail at the center showing where the pivot will be centered. Expect to see next week some progress toward installing the parameter rail...maybe even the pivot being placed. Thanks to all for watching our progress here in Portland, Oregon. Arlen

Just joking. Blaine American Fork Date: 01/14/23 17:32 Re: ORHC - Turntable project - next Author: BlaineM Oh by the way I forgot to tell you how much I've enjoyed your series on this construction project. Looking forward to seeing more. Very interesting.

It rhymes.. But, how about the 'center' for the rim rail? W. Date: 01/15/23 16:19 Re: ORHC - Turntable project - next Author: Lurch_in_ABQ I'm imagining the Omega Morgan crew chanting a well-centered Ommmmmm as the turntable joins the center pivot.

This should put the rail in between the short bolts already installed. However Omega Morgan does it I'm sure that their people are far more qualified than I am.

Surveying is one of those professions that sometimes I think.....what I had done that? Walter Mitty at heart...lots of things I coulda done..but grateful I found the railroad. |
