A branch and passenger train that died about 5 years too soon - and I can only imagine what those folks in Monterey and Carmel would say if the Del Monte could bring those people in without their cars today - though they likely wouldn't want it going through their ocean front property! Stand just east of the Aquarium and look North down the bike/walking path and you can see the ROW for miles...

Definitely, the second pic is at Presidio Curve. Flatcar going to the old Hayward Lumber which is now senior housing. Hoppers are for Del Monte sand #1 plant. Engineer probably Jerry McCabe
