Do You Like SW1s Also
Author: MartyBernard

For what ever reason, SW1s are my favorite switcher. Maybe it's because they were easy to identify for a young railfan (and for an old railfan too!).  Those tool box looking things across the front and back were a dead giveaway.Oh, and of course, the single stack.
Anyhow, here is CB&Q 9140 in the Aurora, IL coach yard next to the roundhouse on June 20, 1965.  She was built in 1939.

Enjoy,
Marty Bernard

Amtrak to had 16 SW1s, 730 to 745. 730 to 737 were ex-NYC and 738 to 745 were ex-PRR.  Surce: http://www.thedieselshop.us/Amtrak%20all-time%20roster2.txt
