Nostalgia & History > SP Caddies at Sparks and 1 other

While stationed at NAS Fallon Nev from 1983 til 1985 I got up to Sparks and Reno Nv as often as I could. Here are 3 shots at Sparks from October 1985.

Shot 1.. SP SD9E 4439 sits just off the parking lot at the Nugget here.

Shot 2.  Same day, I found SP SD9E 4426 working the yard alonside one of the interlopers from the Penninsula Commute Pool, SP SDP45 3202 getting ready to head west over Donner Summit.

Shot 3. And here is the 3202. Saw these on the weekends I got the chance to go up to Sparks.

Not a badplace to visit back then. Never went over to the AMT station located in the yard itself tho. Wish I would have.  Most of the still have the FULL SP Light Package too. Thanks for looking. Ben

Nice- I always enjoyed the passing of the “Weekend Warriors” on Saturday & Sunday in those days. Kinda classed up The Hill a bit.

I prefer mine in color (nyuk-nyuk), neat black and whiles, some days that really  fit the SP.

Nice catch Out. Color is good, but when ya have only B&W to shoot and a few rolls at that, well you know, work with what ya got. Thanks for the shot. Ben

Thanks for the memories. Love the SD9 portrait. The commute fleet on Donner was always a disappointment for me on Donner. Why? Cuz it was the same power I saw at Bayshore when I was home!
