Canadian Railroads > Fraine on the MountainDate: 05/23/15 20:26 Fraine on the Mountain Author: KickingHorse Westbound coal at Fraine on the Mountain Sub
Fraine is basically the west end of Rogers. There are two crossovers just of the signals 683M and 683C; last chance before the Macdonald track (1%) and the Connaught track (2.2%) separate. This one has to stop for 20 minutes to let the manifest get further ahead (timing for purging the air in Macdonald Tunnel).
Thank-you Fraine. Time to head for home. Date: 05/23/15 20:58 Re: Fraine on the Mountain Author: KickingHorse I catch the 8935 again on the Windermere sub just after KC Junction crossing the Kicking Horse River near it's mouth.
Date: 05/23/15 21:05 Re: Fraine on the Mountain Author: KickingHorse Back on the Mountain sub east of Golden but no westbound train for this shot.

What happened to that Saskatchewan hopper?. It looks like when the SP units in the 80ies (?) were losing their paint job. A question about the drive down to Fraine. Do you get in there using the same access road that was used to get into the old Roger's Pusher station or is there a new road? Rick Date: 05/24/15 06:17 Re: Fraine on the Mountain Author: KickingHorse That's the only way in other than hi-rail. Fraine is where the road crosses the Beaver River and the tracks. The Rogers facilities are less than a mile east from there.
