CN P O W E R...
Author: Train611

Hi...

Within two miles on the Ashcroft Sub and 20 minutes apart we were able to catch 12 units.

1. Westbound CN5648 leads a stack train at MP4, meeting an eastbound with 8 units.

2. CN8916 East leads 7 other units and a long train into Kamloops.

3. CN8913 East waits about 5 miles west of Kamloops for the yardmaster to call him in.

Thanks for looking...

Have a great day!

Not often one sees seven units together.  Good catch.

7 units, that would be a "pay perk" at least on BC Rail we got extra pay for more than 3 and or Locotrol Allowance.  Doug

Another Hogger at BC Rail speculated that was one of the reasons that BCR abolished mid train units. Also makes sense why 3 GEs were the normal lashup during that period until CN took over. His opinion was that train handling (on the Squamish sub.) was more difficult and harder on the equipment after that point in time.
