Eastern Railroad Discussion > The BL2Date: 07/17/16 13:26 The BL2 Author: m1bprr This past Saturday I had the privilege of riding the cab of one of the few operating EMD BL2 thanks to the General manager and his operation manager who were the crew that day.

I don't think I've ever seen the view from the cab of a BL-2. It would seem to be dangerous to be on the ground around one of them.

How many miles does that route use? Robert Date: 07/17/16 13:54 Re: The BL2 Author: boomer Nice phone on the control stand in picture 4.
Cool pictures, bet you had fun Posted from Android Date: 07/17/16 14:56 Re: The BL2 Author: joeygooganelli Quite honestly, how is the view any worse than a steam engine? These things were developed when steam engines were still around and HUGE increase in visability.

ALLEN Date: 07/17/16 15:06 Re: The BL2 Author: boejoe Ed;
Glad to see that this BL-2 still carries its former Bangor & Aroostook colors. Is photo #5 at South Honesdale? I don't recognize the area otherwise. Another question: the PRR cars look terrific. Are they genuine or are two of them ex-E/L mu's painted to resemble P70's. Also happy to see a B&O bay window made its way to Wayne County. Was it formerly at Jim Thorpe by any chance? Date: 07/17/16 16:00 Re: The BL2 Author: kpcmcpkva I spy a HANCOCK AIR WHISTLE!!!
Let that whistle BLOW!!! Is it original to the unit?? Date: 07/17/16 16:39 Re: The BL2 Author: eddiejack102 Lucky man ! always wanted to see one up close , Thanks for the shots especially in the cab.

Date: 07/17/16 16:52 Re: The BL2 Author: wheelnrail Thanks for showing us the engine room. Fascinating stuff!
Date: 07/17/16 17:00 Re: The BL2 Author: m1bprr I'm told the cars are former CNJ. The owner of the line has a PRR heratage.
Ed K. Date: 07/17/16 17:26 Re: The BL2 Author: NorthPennLimited I like that pair of ditch lights in the orange shirt and white pants
Date: 07/17/16 17:50 Re: The BL2 Author: highgreengraphics Thanks for the engineroom view, I had never seen the inside of a BL-2 before. I have run F-units, and I thought THEY were tight in back, but this beats all. Tall Engineers not wanted! === === = === JLH
Date: 07/17/16 18:12 Re: The BL2 Author: nhiwwrr I believe, coach wise, they have two CNJ coaches that have bee repainted in the PRR colors, and three DL&W Motors (Note that they're NOT former trailers, but as built motors) that are either awaiting their turn in the paint shop or just not used at the time.
Those cars look great inside and out. New operator put some real effort into fixing up the operations. Posted from Android Date: 07/17/16 18:23 Re: The BL2 Author: Rathole Great photos of a rare beast!
