Eastern Railroad Discussion > Some Color for a Sunday OutingDate: 03/20/18 02:48 Some Color for a Sunday Outing Author: SDP40F600 Made my way down to Marion, Ohio, this past Sunday for a day of railfanning. Alas, not long after I arrived Norfolk Southern imposed a work window until 3 p.m. and CSX was quiet. I never did see a train on the Columbus Subdivision in the six hours I was there.
Photo 1: A Union Pacific unit leads train 234 across the diamonds with the crossing with the CSX Mt. Victory Subdivision. Note that a UP unit is also the third of three units. Photo 2: My first train of the day was the eastbound CSX stack train Q008. The image was made from the top step of AC Tower. You can see the tower's shadow. Photo 3: My last train of the day was an eastbound NS manifest freight whose symbol I did not catch. But with its brace of BNSF motive power is was colorful. |
