NS911 with a BNSF locomotive arrived in Cumberland late Saturday Night / Early Sunday Morning and almost immediately speculation was the duo would be power Q317 later in the day. As the rumours flowed in, some actual facts came to light so we started to put our plan together.

#4 Son's mother is an Officer at Tri-Towns Ambulance & Rescue Dept. out of Westernport, MD. She wanted a photo of the 911 with one of her ambulances... So we hatched a plan to "try" and make the request happen...

Unfortunately the NS911 wouldn't be leading but knowing they would have at least one set out at Keyser, WV would afford at least a pair of movements of the 911 without cars..but then the clouds and rain moved in !

1) Q317-13 Power at Cumberland, MD before going to their train.

2) 1st. Attempt... at 21st. Bridge Rd. , MD. as the Q317-13 heads westbound.

3) Attempt... After making their Set-off at Keyser, WV, the power returns to their train.

#4 son was happy... his mother was happy, so I guess the attempt paid off......

But I really wish the sun would have been out and the 911 was leading!

Yeah, it would've been nice if the sun was out. Yeah, it would've been nice if NS 911 was leading.
But, under the circumstances, I think you nailed it on the last attempt, Tim.
And, you made Mom happy--which is important.
Looks like Tri-Towns had their ambo painted to match. Or did NS contact Tri-Towns for paint recommendations for the 911? Hmmmm.

Thank You... I would have rather had one of my Fire Department's rigs in the photo but I don't think our color scheme would have looked as good with the 911 as his mother's ambulance did.....
