Carload Express SD60M's
Author: JUTower

Greetings:
The first of six of Carload Express's SD60M units is nearly complete at Metro East Industries in E. St. Louis, IL.
CLXX 6001-6006 are former NS units built for Conrail in 1993, and are being upgraded with modern air brake and electronics (CCBII and ZTR Nexsys) and are equipped with PTC and cab signal for operations over NS trackage rights in PA.  Delivery of the six is anticipated to be completed in early 2021.

Thanks for looking!
-Alex

Yes.

I wonder where they will be used. That's a lot of power for Delaware, etc.

Maybe the company has expansion in mind?

Replacements for the Pittsburgh-area lines if they move the existing power to the North Shore lines now that the court case is settled?

The Delaware units are kept extremely clean. Spit polished.

Says a lot about pride in place and people.

And just what is it that makes you think D-L's power is junk?

Excuse me.....D-L takes care of their units, they take pride in their Alcos.

Just because you don't like Alcos does not make them junk.  The D-L Alcos run pretty darn good,  plus they are easier on fuel (Your mileage may vary).

I will have to say that the SD60s sure look good in the Carload Express paint scheme.

So Carload Express is finally getting the North Shore lines?  When did the court case finally end?
