G&W trucks at Apalachicola on the AN.
Author: Apalachicola721

A buddy just called and informed me that there was a couple G&W trucks on AN in Apalachicola. Considering there’s been no service to Port St. Joe since late 2010, I wonder what’s in store? I’m sure reassessment of the railroad for future use but I’m taking a guess they are inspecting for new business in St. Joe. The railroad needs new bridges and one bridge north of Apalachicola collapsed from fire and a huge chunk of the span is gone. The railroad is out of service south of Sumatra, through Apalachicola to Port St. Joe. Not sure of what is happening, but it might be good news- would anyone possibly know? I’m not sure of the business prospects in Port St. Joe as there is no business served by rail there no more. MTI’s facility where they trans loaded coal from barges to rail cars is there but has been used since the very early 00’s. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
