Model Railroading > TEBC-6 measurementsDate: 03/29/06 19:05 TEBC-6 measurements Author: TopcoatSmith Troublemaker PE got me hooked on another (of 3000+) project - building a TEBC-6 and I need drawings or measurements or something, anything I can get.
I have the pics of one from here on TO a while back but I can only guesstimate so much of it. Tanks ! TCS - the sd-38-2 will be so much easier ... Date: 03/29/06 23:17 Re: TEBC-6 measurements Author: SP_8299 My work here is done...
PE - heheheheh Date: 03/30/06 05:14 Re: TEBC-6 measurements Author: brfriedm I know I asked you this question before. Have you ever finished a project? :)
Inquiring minds want to know. Bruce PS - It just seems to me that the model railroad virus of having numerous projects but never finishing them appears to be very strong in California. Too much sunshine? Date: 03/30/06 08:08 Re: TEBC-6 measurements Author: sandmanre I have measurements sent to me by VMV along with some pictures of the interior. E-mail me offline, and I will send them to you.
Date: 03/30/06 08:15 Re: TEBC-6 measurements Author: up833 These are built on the frame of an SD-9. Should get what you need from that info.

Too much sunshine? Its not just a California phenomenon. Happens right here in Georgia too. Of course we're in the sunbelt so.....Guess we all have too much sunstroke from chasing trains. BN M Date: 03/30/06 18:02 Re: TEBC-6 measurements Author: bnsfsd70 I agree. I built mine, starting with an Athearn SD9, and SW1500. I took the SD9 and sliced off everything above the frame. I then used the SW1500, and attached the battery boxes to the front end of the unit, along with a modified cab. I used the SW1500 cab, but I patched the oval side windows, cut out the rounded roof, and applied a new, scratcbuilt brass roof. From there, I just estimated the dimensions of the hood (pretty easy to do with all of these components installed) and cut them from sheet styrene. Mix in some Cannon hood doors, a Cannon brake wheel housing from a nose kit, and some other details, and there ya go. A bit hard, but not too hard. Now I just need to get around to finishing it, as its been in the "85%" stage for a long time now. Jeff

I have a Proto SD-9 cut down to the frame, the TEBC cab is larger than an SW-1500 but I am using the front and rear pieces of same, as stated you can only guestimate so far before you need some solid numbers as a base. On another note after I ran out of steam on this waiting for help, I jumped back onto a cool project languishing on the back tracks - looks like I'm gonna get some first-hand experience in custom frame building like Betsy does ... TCS - brass would be easier but this is ....fun ( ????? ) Date: 03/31/06 07:32 Re: TEBC-6 measurements Author: brfriedm Great. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your work. Post away.
