Take a model train to work day?
Author: atsf5701

I vaguely remember reading that in November, there would a "Take a model train to work day." Can anyone confirm this and tell me the date?

"Take A Model Train To Work And Get Laughed At Day"

After suffering through middle school, high school, college, and work tauntings about model trains, I leave 'em at home.

Myself I plan on taking a Bachmann CR C40-8W and running it over with a real -8W if one happens to be sitting around.

Amen to that statment, I can't take "you play with trains" anymore. I stopped discussing the model railroading thing at work years ago.

If I tried that, I might get fired. Where I work, there is no tolerance for things going on in the work place that are not work related.

I already do folks.I own a Rod & Reel Fishing Shop.Have had an overhead oval of 72' of HO track & trains running 6 days a week since January 18th, 2002.Its mounted on plexiglas.Cost to build & install just over $1,000.00

Plus have a 90 watt Reciever,2 Advent Baby II's,and an Onkyo Double Deck Cassette.
My customers can hear trains climbing Cajon & Tehachapi..

Have done extensive research with every fishing shop in North America, and found im the only one folks.

I did take my model trains to work at one time at my last job. I would bring out a kit during lunch hour to work on it. All it gained me was a reputation with my boss for goofing off. I had fellow employees with lots of model cars, etc on their desks who had no problems. Our hobby is just not accepted in a lot of circles. Use your own judgement, but when in doubt, keep it quiet.
