Uncle Joe Date: 08/28/15 11:14 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: chitownjeff Athearn when are you going to do the ATSF 45-2's in the 5800 series, non Kodachrome
Jeff Date: 08/28/15 11:19 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: SPDRGWfan Woo hoo for the auto-racks with side panels! Finally! My problem is D&RGW hauled way more tri-levels than bi-levels so it's going to be tough with so many bi-levels coming out.
The 5-bay Rapid Discharge CSDPU hoppers are welcome too. Since I've been slippin further into the past, I skipped the last run of CSDU hoppers (1986+) a few months back; I have duplicate numbers from the first run as it is. Anyway glad to see CSDPU coming; I totally missed the earlier two runs when they were released, but managed to pick up a couple CSDPU 5 packs a couple years go from an earlier run. Lots of nice stuff being annoucned between Tangent, ExactRail and Athearn! Cheers, Jim Date: 08/28/15 11:47 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: CPR_4000 retcsxcfm Wrote:

I'll take four in the D&H delivery scheme . . . I wish! Date: 08/28/15 12:43 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: NIKS Finally the GP39-2 from Athearn....just wish it wasnt the 3600 Class but I will get them any way.
PEter Date: 08/28/15 13:33 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: brc600 All Athearn had to do was basically put a GP40-2 turbo and dynamic brake piece on a GP38-2, and have a decent GP39-2. Some details needed.

Side panels came in the 70s Date: 08/28/15 14:22 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: dropframe Southern auto rack - yahoo!

But are all the Athearn Genesis bi-level's announced with side panels or only the Southern? Date: 08/28/15 15:14 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: WAF Ones I saw on Pacific Western Railway's site are open girder work

Where on PWR website are they showing the new racks? Date: 08/28/15 16:05 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: WAF Under Reservations for Athearn Gensis
Date: 08/28/15 17:28 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: randyr I guess I will give up hope on seeing an Amtrak SDP40F. Easy for me to tell Athearn how to spend their capital $'s, Maybe Scalerails or Rapido will step up.
Randy in PHX Date: 08/28/15 19:04 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: NIKS The early 39-2 and the 38-2 were pretty close. Please read the DE article on Santa Fe's GP39-2 fleet, the phase difference are spelled in extreme detail. Just FYI, the dynamic brake blister is different between the 40-2 and 39-2.

ATHEARN IS DOING THE SDP40F!!!!!! They will announce it soon when it is ready. From the National Train Show in Portland................................... Keith Turley Monrovia, California Date: 08/28/15 21:04 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: Larry020 I would not give up too soon on every phase of the autorack. Seems to me that they introduce the as built version of a model first, then move onto every phase that they think will sell.
I hope we all live long enough to see it in the version we want, and be able to afford an entire string of them... Larry Date: 08/28/15 23:08 Re: New Athearn Announcements Posted Author: rschonfelder Keith, it is a bit early for April Fools jokes.
