CitRail ES44ACs Arrive on the BNSF Fall River Division
Author: bnsfbuff

Two CitiRail ES44ACs were placed in service today on the BNSF Fall River Division. After being lightly weathered, adding a few more ounces or weight, minor reprogramming and a new speaker change, these units are ready for service!

Intermountain Railway did a great job with these units.

John, Awesome looking railroad as always!  Love the light chassis weathering on the new locomotives!

Are the motors upgraded on these compared to previous runs? Headlights?

They look really good. Nothing like a couple heavy AC motors on the job.

As I write, 1327 is on a EB Long Beach Stack @ Ft Madi for Chicago, 1343 is slugging it out on a loaded Grainer in Vancouver, Wa.

These units and your layout look terrific John!  And I agree with Mike about the weathering - just the perfect amount.  I always enjoy your updates.

Looking nice John. I have one coming also.  For the one question, these do have the new motors FYI.

Thanks Bruce.  Yes, you are correct - these have the new motors. Adding a few ounces of weigh also helps increase the pulling power. I use thin wheel balancing lead weights glued to the inside of the top of the shell.

Very nice scenes and cool locos.  We get those rolling through my area on BNSF on occasion, very striking when clean and in good sunlight.

What speaker did you change to?

I replace the round IM speaker with a DSM8 speaker, available from Railmaster Hobbies.

No talent or weathering here haha.  But here is my Iowa Interstate Heritage Unit from this same run....

Those units look great. I'm waiting for the FEC units though. The Citiral units look great and the Iowa Interstate is a nice scheme.
