"Memories from the Past"
Author: KeyRouteKen

When I lost my Sister in 2009, a lot of her belongings went to her daughter Shelley (my Niece) in Florida.Among the personal belongings were THREE SP freight cars built by my grandfather some 82-years ago. They used to operate on the famous Basement Railroad in East Oakland. This past weekend, Shelley sent me a photograph of a wonderful display she created in her Florida home.
Enjoy !!

Great to see them preserved as many times they are sold off and never seen again.

It s nice that your niece thinks enough of those models to display them!
I really like those shelves, did she make them herself or are they commercially
available?

Thanks for sharing!

Mike

It's great that these models are being taken care of so well.

I understand about the sentiment, but live steam trains were meant to be run. Sad to see for me, but again, I understand the family appreciation and at least they are not in some basement rotting away ( as some of his stuff is right now) but on a display that Vic would be proud of.
