Passenger Trains > Questions about commuter trains on the BNSF Chicago Sub.Date: 06/26/17 20:35 Questions about commuter trains on the BNSF Chicago Sub. Author: railfaneric I know BNSF runs Commuter trains on the Chicago Sub, But i have some questions. First Question is when does the last commuter train of the night? Second question is do the Commuter trains use track 2 because I've seen them use track 1 and track 3 but not track 2. Do they use track 2?

Metra trains use all three mains. Normally when stopping at stations, outbounds use Main 1 while inbounds use Main 3. Express trains in either direction use Main 2. Author: OliveHeights Back in the 90's when I lived in Naperville, there was an express that left CUS around 530 pm and made its first stop at Naperville. We spent a lot of that run on the middle track meeting inbounds and passing out bounds at their station stops. It was a great ride.
