What 8 Hours Late Looks Like
Author: SDP40F600

Amtrak's westbound Capitol Limited seems to be late into Cleveland more often than it is on time. But there is late and really late. No. 29 has been the latter a couple of times this month including last Saturday when it reached Cleveland at 10:44 a.m. and left at 10:55. The scheduled arrival and departure times are 2:53 a.m. and 2:59 a.m. Under normal circumstances even a late No. 29 slips through town in darkness. Not so last Saturday. The train is shown cruising down Track No. 1 of the Chicago Line of Norfolk Southern in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, a western Cleveland suburb. Next stop is Elryia. The Capitol reached Chicago later this day at 5:42 p.m., eight hours and 27 minutes down.

I can almost see the KFC "fragrances" emitting from the roof vents.

This looks similar to a spot where a very late Lake Shore Limited was photographed a few years ago....with some TO members on the rear car.

The reflections on the windows keeps us from the seeing the smiling faces of the happy guests on-board the train...
