A charger sent to rescue another charger. Doesn't get more fun.

390 is also about 2 hours late due to engine problems. Something about fuel I think.

390 lost 1 1/2 hours out of Champaign, then another half hour into Gilman. Now (239p CT) on the St. Charles Air Line in Chicago. Reported as having the IDTX 4619.

7 of the 18th has been set back to 16:00 out of CUS instead of 14:15. I do know they had a bad ordered car. A new one was switched in around 12:30. I wonder how they found a bad order that late in the game when the train came into Chicago Monday night? When was the train inspected at the pit?

7 is waiting on something like 7 or 8 passengers off the 5 hour delayed 300,plus the usual mechanical bungling going on.

A note from a passenger on 390 this morning said they were nearly out of fuel at Champaign and needed a top off,YMMV.

Looks like the Hiawathas are held down by 68/182 and 171/4608 so far...not sure if that second set actually has 81 still with it as security or not.

371(17) that died at Holland yesterday AM was taken to Saugatuck siding and tied down. 370(18) w/ 83 + 3 Supers hauled pax to Bangor and transferred them to a bus there, then proceeded to Sugatuck to grab the DOA set there and on to Grand Rapids to wye the whole mess. 371 this morning originated as normal from GRR with 83 plus 6 Superliners and 4631 idling on the rear.

Fun to watch, but the day is still young right?

This is fun, six weeks ago the "usual suspects" were post about nothing but how bad Amtrak food is. Now it's how bad the Chargers are.
So what's next on the never happy agenda?

Neither happy nor unhappy, just facts. If they don't run, they don't run,I just track 'em and take notes and numbers.

I have food and don't need theirs, but then again I haven't ridden a silver slinky since 2012 so it doesn't much matter.

According to Amtrak alerts: 7/27 is operating two hours and thirty minutes late due to the late arrival of inbound equipment.

Likewise, Cabbage-40s all failed in Chicago a year ago, but not elsewhere.

Well why not ? Is the food service and 3rd world reliability plus managerial negligence and ineptitude acceptable ?
This is a passenger-focused rail discussion board by potential customers, not the NARP hotline.

It's tri weekly. The equipment sat downtown since Monday night. I think they flat out lied.

Or failed to clarify the failed "inbound equipment" was #390 and its passengers.

Fair points. With AMTK's reliability issues I think I'll be driving to Chicago for the foreseeable future, not riding the Bluewater nor Wolverines.
