5-22 449 out of Boston

For some odd reason, 3 units on point of 4 cars. Dead unit to Beech Grove?

448 and 449 are really the only means for Amtrak to move diesels and NPCU’s in and out of New England. I’ve seen as many as 4 units on this train.

I think that happens when they need to move a unit from the Downeaster pool for maintenance to Albany/Renselear.  Here's a shot of a similar lashup of 3 units I caught in Worcester on #449 on 3/03/23.

It is.  They're adding additional platform tracks and an overhead walkway from the parking structure.
