Enroute to Streamliners 2016 Part 2

Hi all,

On Thursday 9/29/16 we followed SSR light engine movement from Parkes to Goulburn with no less than eight covered wagons! The line up conisted of B61, B65, GM27, S317, S302, S306, GM10 and GM1. B61, GM27 and S317 were online for the move. The day started off pretty ordinary weather wise but got better.

1. D876 powers away from Stockinbingal.

2 & 3. D876 at Cootamundra West.

2. Heading up through Cullerin.

3. In the gloom at Joppa Jct, near Goulburn where the line to Canberra branches off.

While the engines were being shunted into the roundhouse area we went and got a couple of other movements.

1. Qube empty containerised grain service, 1263N nears Towrang with leased CFCLA unit VL358 leading three Qube owned former Danish MZ III units 1432, 1431, 1433.

2. Qube's 1433 and 1431 during shunting at Goulburn. These former Danish MZ's are an EMD model J30C-2 (SD45-2).

3. Pacific National intermodal service, 4BM4 passes through Goulburn hauled by NR121, NR97, NR65.

Next lot.

1. 2M26N empty ballast train off the Canberra line arrives in Goulburn for stabling hauled by quad Alco DL531's, 864, 852, 4814, 4836. Greentrains liveried 864 is owned by Qube while the other three units wear Junee Railway Workshops livery.

2. Getting the locomotives setup inside Goulburn roundhouse.

3. The star of the show pulls CFCLA units S300 and S311 into the roundhouse.

Last lot.

1. Qube owned Alco DL500B, 4461 out the back of Goulburn roundhouse. It was shunted in the next day.

2. Qube owned DL500B, 4477 in CFCLA livery awaits to be shunted inside the roundhouse.

The sunburst livery on B61 was specially designed just for the event. A credit to all involved.
