Thursday was one for the record books with the temps near 70, but changes were on the way, BIG time! CP train #270 had the Soo Line SD60 #6033 leading on this beautiful sunny morning just south of La Crescent MN. Over on the BNSF, the recently delivered #7080 led an east bound grain train just south of La Crosse WI. Friday was entirely different weather wise with snow flurries and about a 100 miles an hour wind straight out of the north! CP train #810, BNSF #9133 leads snow covered hoppers past Dakota MN.

CP GP38-2 #4508 leads CP train H19 under the leaden skies on it's trek to the Twin Cities, shown here at Dakota MN. Following close behind was CP train #271 with a nice pair of Blue/Yellow EMDs. Speaking of nice EMDs! CP #270 had the CP #6236/#6234, ex-Soo Line #6036/#6034 leading 94 cars away from the snow squall that was rapidly closing in from the northwest, just south of La Crescent MN.

I decided to follow this pair of clean red machines a bit further south. The top image has the train passing MP #155 and again passing through Brownsville MN and lastly crossing the Reno Dike in Reno MN. Time to throw another log on the fire friends, it's not supposed to get above 35 degrees anytime soon!
