Author: rbx551985

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey
(Feld Entertainment, Inc.)

The Greatest Show On Earth has a startling assortment of JOB OPENINGS listed on their Parent Company website (LINK below). I DO NOT KNOW IF ANY OF THESE JOBS HAVE BEEN FILLED, nor which of the two railroad shows these jobs would be for. It should be noted that the website was visited - to view this information and post in here on Trainorders.com - as of Wednesday, July 20, 2005.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS are given on the website, as are CONTACT LINKS. If anyone reading this post has any serious interest in ANY of these positions, know that the FIRST question they will ask is "Are you willing to TRAVEL full-time?" To view the job descriptions, CLICK on the active LINKS of each job, at the website shown below.

THE JOBS THEY ARE ADVERTISING AS "OPEN" - AS OF JULY 20, 2005 ARE:
~~Aminal Care Attendant
~~Assistant Trainmaster
~~Chief Mechanical Officer
~~Food Service Cook (on the "Pie Car")
~~School Teacher
~~TRAINMASTER (!!)

To those making serious inquiries, GOOD LUCK! Here's the LINK:

Yes, on the BLUE UNIT, which is currently in Texas. TIM HOLAN was the Trainmaster on the Red Unit, which is now in California, however I'm informed he has settled down by "running away FROM the Circus," as show-people would say. I presume the RED UNIT is the show they might (still???) be looking for hiring for that position. Tim had been with the show - as TRAINMASTER for most of that time - since 1977. He deserves a break!

Here are some LINKS to webpages about RBBB Trainmasters Gene Pettus and Tim Holan:

On Gene Pettus, from the UTU website (April 2004):
http://www.utu.org/worksite/detail_news.cfm?ArticleID=13370
(Gene was also talked about in the TRAINS Magazine feature article about the RBBB trains, published early last year.)

On Tim Holan, from Carl Morrison's Anaheim, California website (2003):
http://www.trainweb.org/carl/Anaheim/Trainmaster.htm

(More articles on them can be found by typing their names on the "Google.com" Search Engine.)

Enjoy!
