Any idea what route(s) it using between Pasco and Madison?

My guess is the hi-line to Chicago. I don't follow much beyond Whitefish, MT.

If it's going to Cleveland, why would it go to Chicago and then St. Louis? I'd bet this move is not going through Chicago. Might have something to do with overhead clearances? A 4-8-4 on a flatcar, even a depressed center car, is gonna be pretty tall.

Yes, clearance restrictions. It is moving as a High & Wide load on flat car.

Neither 2100 nor its tenders are on depressed center cars.  They are all on standard height flat cars.  2100 is buffered by two empty idler flats.

Sounds a bit top heavy.

For a sense of perspective, how tall does 2100 sit on the flat compared to a loaded doublestacked intermodal car?

Add four feet to whatever height the 2100 is.  If its 16' tall then it would be 20'.

Looking forward to catching the move as it comes to northern Ohio. Hopefully it's tracked well on here.

What would be routing from St Louis-Cleveland. I assume CSX (has to be to get to w3rd). Has CSX relaxed their anti steam policy even from transporting?

I would assume it is going to an interchange at Madison, IL, from there to Terminal Railroad of Saint Louis.

It's not a steam move for CSX.  It's a high / wide flat move.

The 2100 departed Pasco this morning behind GECX 2028 on the PASNTW at 0800.

The two tenders will be going separately on the PASKCK.

2100 itself plus idler flats are on a H PASNTW1 17A and show to setout at Fargo. The tender and idler flats are assigned to a H PASKCK9 17A due out of Pasco at any time.
